How an off-road enthusiast mixes business with pleasure
Meet Cullen Powers. He’s a professional photographer from Des Moines, Iowa that loves to go off-roading. He will often combine business with pleasure, taking his 2016 Toyota 4Runner into the wild country in order to explore new terrain and shoot some awesome photos.
We asked him how long he’s known about Timbren’s Active Off-Road Bumpstops, and why he switched.
“My introduction to Timbren came when I was helping shoot the T4R Experience in Colorado a few years back. The guys running the event were hauling around a camping trailer using the Axel-Less suspension. It was the first I'd heard of something like that, and after watching them pull it down the trails for two days I was blown away by how it performed.
Not only that, they showed me the Active Off-Road Bumpstops on their tow vehicle. I installed a set 3 years ago, and I’ve been loving them ever since.”
Cullen is continuously upgrading parts to his Toyota 4Runner, adding creature comforts and making a better vehicle for long road trips. Even though the OEM suspension in the TRD Pro is the best available, Cullen completely replaced it in order to get a more comfortable ride on regular roads and a more capable ride on trails. Here’s what he had to say:
“Part of that upgrade was replacing the original bump stops with Active Off-Road Bump Stops. We've all hit a rock or rut at high speed, and the loud “BANG” of your suspension bottoming out is cringe-worthy. Active Off-Road Bumpstops protects my suspension and gives me more control.”
Ever since Timbren Industries first introduced Active Off-Road Bumpstops, interest has continued to grow. And it’s no wonder. Replacing their factory-installed bump stops with Timbren’s Active Off-Road Bumpstops does 2 things:
- They improve the ride quality
- They increase overall control of the vehicle
Off-Road Bump Stops softens the blow, providing you with more ride control. You’ll experience less wear and tear on yourself as the driver, and on your vehicle as well.
