Great News for Off-Road Enthusiasts
A regular-duty Axle-Less suspension is fine for highway driving…
But when your getaway involves a destination that’s a little off-road, you’re going to need something a little more heavy-duty, like the beefed-up Axle-Less HD series.
The heavier design of the HD series enables your trailer to endure the abuse of the world’s harshest trails.
So, what makes the Axle-Less HD suspension HD?
What Makes Up the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension?
Well, for starters we’re going to have to take a closer look at the basic components of the Axle-Less. There are basically seven...
- In order to transform a regular Axle-Less suspension into an Axle-Less HD suspension, the following components must change:
- Steel Hanger
- Control arm
- Both the steel hanger and the control arm – made from precision-cut metal – are made larger and stronger. In fact, almost every component increases in size and capacity.
- Outboard Arm
- Spindle
- Both the outboard arm and spindle increase in size in order to accommodate larger bearings, hubs, brakes, rims, and tires.
- Urethane Bushings
- Urethane Bushings
- The urethane bushings are larger in diameter in order to house the larger fasteners that hold the control arm to the larger hanger (frame bracket).
- Jounce Spring
- Rebound Spring
With the exception of the smaller, rebound spring, the jounce spring must be made larger and stronger. However, in order to maintain good ride quality, the jounce is made of a softer durometer. Even though the larger jounce is more powerful, the softer durometer cushions the ride for rough, off-road conditions.
Needless to say, the rugged design of the HD series enables your trailer to endure the abuse of the world’s harshest trails.
And here’s more great news!
The NEW Off-Road Timbren Axle-Less Suspensions
Timbren Industries recently introduced two new Axle-Less suspensions specifically
designed for off-road trailers: ASR52HDS01 and ASR52HDS04.
Both part numbers have components made from heavy-gauge steel that support the increased demands of a trailer used for off-road and overland travel. Additionally, a softer rubber spring allows for more suspension travel without compromising strength or capacity, providing you with the best ride quality to protect your cargo on and off the trail.
ASR52HDS01 comes with heavy-duty outboard arms and standard spindles for use
with standard-width tires 235/85R16 or smaller. ASR52HDS04 comes with heavy-duty
outboard arms, a 4" lift, and long spindles for use with wider off-road tires larger than
235/85R16. Both models include a brake flange to accommodate both electric and
hydraulic brakes.
