The JRJK quickly and easily replaces the bump stop on the 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler.
In order to remove the bump stop, you simply pry it out of the bump stop cup located up on the frame.
(Incidentally, you could say that the removal of the OEM bump stop does require a tool, maybe a flathead screwdriver.)
Installing the JRJK is ridiculously easy because it doesn’t involve any tools.
First of all, the kit comes pre-assembled.
No tools.
Secondly, it’s held by friction!
Once again, no tools.
After applying a little dish soap* to the rubber spacer to the top piece of the assembly, you simply work it into the bump stop cup.
* (BTW – do not use oil as a lubricant. It will eat into the rubber, and cause it to break down.)
If the rubber spacer doesn’t want to slide into the cup, there’s probably too much friction. No problem: simply place a 2×4 block of wood between the rubber spring and the axle, and use the weight of the vehicle to pop it into place.
And that’s all there is to it!
