The Problem
The story of the Axle-Less trailer suspension began 7 years ago. The US military had a problem.
Trailers that were used to pick up the injured on the battlefield had limited use. The medics needed a trailer that could go where an off-road vehicle could go.
The real problem was the straight axle. It presented all kinds of limitations. If the axle could somehow be eliminated, the trailer would navigate smoothly, without incident.
The Solution
A company in Oregon contacted us back in 2010 wanting to know if we could provide a solution. After several months of phone calls and emails, we offered them an idea for their prototype:
No axle. The first of its kind.
Our friends in Oregon liked the idea, but failed to win the contract. So, at the end of the day, Timbren had a really cool idea for a trailer suspension.
The birth of a new suspension
Timbren continued to develop their new, proprietary system called the Axle-Less Trailer Suspension. It caught the eye of the judges at the SEMA show in Las Vegas in 2011, and won first prize for best new product in the off-road category.
As interest in the Axle-Less Trailer Suspension increased, so did the selection of models. Before long the list of models grew to include:

- 1200 lb. series
- 2000 lb. series
- 2000 HD series
- 1 Tonne HD series
- 3500 lb. series
- 3500 HD series
- 5200 lb. series
- 7,000 lb. series.
What is the secret sauce used in the design of the Axle-Less suspension? It’s simple:
- Steel hanger
- 2 Aeon springs – 1 jounce and 1 rebound
- Urethane bushings
- 1 control arm
By using Aeon springs, we can honestly say, “Stronger than steel, more reliable than air.”
