Timbren Helper Springs Review: Why Timbren has manufactured the best helper springs for 5 decades
Timbren Industries has developed alternative suspension products for over 5 decades. This short article - Timbren Helper Springs Review – reveals Timbren’s history and why they’ve made the best shock helper springs ever...
Where did Timbren come from?
Timbren SES truck springs were first developed for the North American market in 1968. Timbren’s founder, Arnold Heron, wanted to develop alternatives to older, more conventional truck suspensions.
The sale of SES kits has expanded since then to include well over 400 kits for everything from small pickups to big rigs like Peterbilt. Timbren SES helper springs, aka Aeon® hollow rubber springs, are at the heart of every Timbren SES product. They are the alternative to metal and air.
Aeon® springs come in various sizes and shapes: single, double, and even triple convolutions, some round, some square. A set of Aeon® springs provides extra weight capacity for your suspension, starting at 1,000 lbs up to 50,000 lbs. Every SES kit is a combination of carefully selected Aeon® springs and components that can be installed on virtually every truck, van and SUV that rolls off the assembly line.
What are Timbren's top three kits?
As we said above, Timbren has designed and manufactured well over 400 SES kits. There’s a kit for every truck, van and SUV that rolls off the assembly line.
There are three kits that have proven to be the most sought-after for the last few decades: part # GMRS15, GMRCK25D and FR250SDJ. It’s no secret that most of Timbren’s truck helper springs are for half-ton and three-quarter-ton pickup trucks.
These three popular kits were designed to fit the suspension of the Chevy Silverado, Chevy Sierra, and Ford F-250. They are a perfect example of why Timbren has enjoyed so much success over the years.
Why do these three kits stand out?
-
Easy installation: Every SES kit is simple and easy to install. If you can remove a bump stop, you can install a Timbren SES upgrade. For instance, part # GMRS15 is a good example of just how easy the installation is on this particular kit. There are five easy steps:
- Lift the truck and allow the wheels to hang (optional)
- Locate and remove OE bump stops
- Assemble steel disk, rubber spacer, and Aeon® rubber spring and mount to frame using Timbren-supplied fasteners
- Torque bolts to 30-35 Ft.lbs.
- Lower vehicle if necessary
- Zero maintenance: Unlike airbags, Timbren SES kits are a set-it-and-forget-it system.
- Timbren’s Aeon® hollow rubber springs have 2 unique characteristics: Progressive spring rate and hysteresis. These 2 characteristics define Timbren’s rubber springs as “stronger than steel and more reliable than air.” In a word, Aeon® springs are absolutely bulletproof!
Which truck do you drive?
If you drive a Chevy Silverado 2500 then GMRCK25D will fit your truck. Once again, this kit is super easy to install. Check out the five easy steps:
If you drive a Ford F-250, FR250SDJ will fit your truck. And it’s the same easy installation as the GMRCK25D! It’s not an exaggeration to say that Timbren SES products guarantee you:
Very few helper springs can combine all of the above benefits and advantages. Some truck helper springs provide a great ride but not enough stability. Others provide stability without extra ride quality.
Only one manufacturer – Timbren SES – has offered everything listed above. And they’ve done it repeatedly for the past 5 decades!
