3500HD Axle-Less Trailer Suspension
The 3500HD series Axle-less trailer suspensions are ideal for off-road use. Hangers made from heavy-gage metal support the increased demands of a trailer used on off-road terrain. A softer rubber spring allows for more suspension travel without compromising strength of capacity.
This premium HD Axle-Less trailer suspension – designed for off-road use – comes with a 2" lift, long, straight spindle for use with wide tires. For added braking power, a brake flange is included giving you the option to install brakes.
Due to higher than anticipated volumes we're currently experiencing a 3 to 4 week lead time.
The genius of the Axle-Less trailer suspension has more to do with what is not there than what is:
- Less hassle! Experience fewer limitations by gaining more ground clearance.
- Less time! You can retrofit any light-duty trailer without waiting for an axle that fits.
- Less road shock! You will maintain the smoothest ride with or without a load.
- Less danger! An independent suspension gives you better control of your trailer.
The Axle-Less suspension give you more: More fun, more adventure and more peace of mind.
- 2" Lift For Added Ground Clearance
- Long Spindle Arms For Wide Wheel & Tire Combos
- Extra Braking Power With Included Brake Flange
- No Thru Axle = No Hang Ups
- Smooth Quiet Ride Empty & Loaded
- Durable Powder Coat Finish

Does it come as a pair or just one side?
When you purchase one Axle-Less trailer suspension, you always get enough for both sides of the trailer. The price you see advertised includes both left side and right side.
Is the capacity rating for Axle-Less suspensions for one side or both?
The capacity rating represents one complete Axle-Less suspension, i.e. both sides.
Why are some Axle-Less suspensions marked ‘HD’?
The “HD” in an Axle-Less part number stands for heavy-duty. The HD versions are more robust compared to their regular-duty counterparts with the same nominal load rating. For example, ASR2000S and ASR2KHD both have the same load rating (2000 lbs) even though the first one is regular-duty and the second one is heavy-duty. HD suspensions are constructed using thicker steel making them much stronger. Therefore, they withstand more abuse, harsher conditions, and more dynamic loads. HD suspensions are recommended for off-road applications.
Do I need to do anything special to my trailer frame to use the Axle-Less suspension?
First of all, you need to make sure the frame is perfectly square. Secondly, some trailer frames require additional support (like an extension plate to allow bolts to be installed vertically). This would eliminate the use of a cross-member, allowing you to achieve maximum ground clearance.
Does the Axle-Less trailer suspension require any maintenance?
Yes. Some maintenance is required for the Axle-Less suspension such as greasing the pivot bushings and wheel bearings. For detailed maintenance information, refer to the maintenance notes included with the installation instructions.
What kind of warranty comes with the Axle-Less trailer suspension?
The Axle-Less trailer suspension comes with a full 3-year limited warranty.
What’s the difference between an Axle-Less suspension and a torsion suspension?
Axle-Less trailer suspensions are fully independent and do not require an axle. A torsion trailer suspension, on the other hand, is housed within an axle tube.
What are Axle-Less trailer suspension springs made from?
Axle-Less jounce and rebound springs are made from natural rubber, with all the unique characteristics inherent in rubber springs.

I had a trailer custom built by Express Custom Trailers of Parksville BC. I had to supply the suspension, wheels and tires as I wanted the tires and wheels to be the same size as the ones on my 2006 3500 GMC pickup. I ordered a set of ASR35HDS06 Axle-less trailer suspension c/w brake flanges and a set of 500886LH/RH drums and brakes.
This gave me a hub that my 16 inch 8 stud wheels bolted onto with no problems. Now I only need one spare for both the truck and trailer.
What I found amazing was the way the suspension absorbed the bumps and potholes in Express Custom Trailer’s yard even with the trailer being empty. Mind you, I had aired the tires down to 45 psi so that took out a lot of the bounce in the tires.
I’ve only made the one trip to get the trailer home and most of that was in the dark during a snow storm so it was impossible to watch both the trailer and the road at the same time. I will be taking it for a tow in the next day or so and will look for some gravel/dirt roads to see how it handles them.
